Setup

Three steps. About 120 seconds.

Step 1

Get a free API key.

Sign up at app.feasibly.com.au/register with your email. No credit card. Your API key arrives instantly — copy it from the dashboard.

The key travels inside the MCP URL, so anyone who can read that URL can spend your credits — treat it like a password and keep it out of shared configs, screenshots and screen-shares. Issue a separate key per client rather than reusing one, and revoke from the dashboard if a key is ever exposed. Over REST, prefer the Authorization: Bearer header, which keeps the key out of URLs and server logs entirely.

Step 2

Paste the MCP URL into your AI client.

Replace YOUR_API_KEY with the key from step 1. The connection string is:

Step 3

Ask about any Australian address.

In your AI client, ask: "What's the planning zone of 12 Smith Street, Brunswick VIC?" — the LLM will call Feasibly, return zone, schedule, overlays, envelope, and source URL in 8 seconds. That's it.

If something doesn't work

Most setups complete in under 2 minutes.

If yours doesn't, that's a bug we want to know about, not a problem you should solve alone. Three things to check first:

  • Confirm your client supports MCP. Claude Desktop, claude.ai, ChatGPT (Developer Mode), Cursor, Windsurf all do. If yours doesn't, use the REST API.
  • Check the API key is correctly pasted. Common mistake: a trailing space or a newline. The key looks like feasibly_sk_ followed by 32 hexadecimal characters — 44 characters in total, no spaces. Anything shorter is truncated.
  • Read the troubleshooting guide. Every error message the server sends, what causes it, and how to clear it. If it isn't there, email hello@feasibly.com.au — replies under 24h, stuck-at-setup tickets prioritised.
