National coverage

Mapped to seven states. Schedule-deep in one.

~455 councils across the network. Every response source-linked, confidence-tagged, and tied to its jurisdiction's authoritative dataset.

Coverage isn't uniform across Australia and we're explicit about which depth tier applies to each state. Both tiers are real; they're different shapes.

The atlas

Where Feasibly works.

Victoria is schedule-deep, every council schedule manually codified. The other six states are state-API-deep: authoritative spatial APIs from the source authority.

WA NT SA QLD NSW VIC TAS ACT
Verified council schedules: VIC (79 LGAs, 790 schedules, daily amendment monitor) Government API + machine-extracted DCP controls: NSW (116 councils) and QLD SEQ (8 schemes), flagged screening-grade, not schedule-verified Government spatial API: SA, WA, ACT, TAS Deferred: NT has no working spatial API Schematic, for tier comparison only, not a boundary source. The three tiers are deliberately never collapsed into one number.

Depth tiers

Two ways to be deep.

Both are honest. Schedule-deep means we read the council's words. API-deep means the state authority publishes the rules directly. Same source-linked answer, different shape.

Tier 01

Schedule-deep · VIC

Where the council's schedule overrides the state default, we read it.

  • 790 schedules manually codified from planning ordinances
  • Daily amendment monitor with VPP gazettal alerts
  • ResCode Clause 55 building envelope (7 standards, VC267)
  • Per-council variations on min lot, height, garden area, coverage
  • Confidence: verified_schedule when read & checked

Tier 02

API-deep · NSW · SA · QLD · WA · ACT · TAS

The state authority publishes structured planning data; we read it from the source API.

  • NSW Standard Instrument LEPs via DPIE Planning Portal
  • SA Planning & Design Code with TNVs, best data quality
  • QLD per-council endpoints + QDC MP1.1 envelope
  • WA SLIP ArcGIS + R-Codes 7.3 (16 tiers, statewide standards)
  • ACT Territory Plan 2023 + 118 precinct overrides; TAS theLIST

Roadmap

NT: deferred.

The Northern Territory hasn't published a public spatial planning API yet. We'll ship NT support the day a usable endpoint exists.

Status

No working spatial API for NT.

Until the NT government publishes a usable spatial planning endpoint, NT lookups return a clear "jurisdiction not yet supported" response. We don't guess.
